Southeastern Glideritis Anonymous Get Together site !!
The 2010 GA Gathering has come and gone… We had a WONDERFUL time! SO many GORGEOUS gliders, so many GREAT friends, and so many GENEROUS people… I do not even know where to begin… SO I will just try to tell you a little about it if I can… We took a vote at the gathering on what our permanent weekend annually will be… and had several folks suggest biannual gatherings. The results of the poll for annual date will be posted on the GA website by this afternoon, but having the gathering twice a year will take longer to discuss since the S.P.I.N. Board of Directors needs to confer on this first. We played games, the winners of which (Kim won "Two Truths and a Lie", Candy H won "Glider Terminology Scrambler". and Jennifer won "Ice Breaker Bingo") all received gift certificates from various VERY generous vendors (KrysKritters, Glider Daydreams, Jana's Suggie Shop, & Glider Daydreams)…
Everyone got goody bags FILLED with COOL stuff... complete kits to build a toy, glider info pocket cards to hand out to others, treat cups with lids, 3 different treat samples (pine nuts, YoYums, and Fruity Glider Cereal), toy making items, enad more!
We had three silent auctions, which were won by some VERY competitive ladies (Peggy, Carol, and Kim)…
We learned new things about gliders, one another, and insect feeding options. We had a TON of laughs and a TERRIFIC time… and there are MANY who need some PRAISE…
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all the vendors and individuals who donated items to the silent auctions… thanks to you (and some VERY “determined” ladies unafraid to dive head first across other glider slaves to put in a last minute bid) S.P.I.N. will be able to help rescues- including the all important neutering of males, checkups, fecal exams, emergency care, and medications for a bit longer. You are ALL so appreciated!! Thank you to Tish, our location hostess for 2010 who opened up her heart and her home to almost 30 people affected by Glideritis! You provided us with a place to meet, and we enjoyed your company tremendously! Though I am sure Tish may not wake up and have recovered enough to read this until well after noon today, it is important to me and to S.P.I.N. that everyone know SHE IS AWESOME! Not only did she put up with adult women laughing uproariously until 3:30 in the morning the night before, not only did she allow us all to invade her home, and not only did she ferry some of us around town (more than once) she is a most gracious hostess who did everything in her power to be helpful and accommodating… including staying up late to assist with set up, cleaning afterward, and even charging cordless drills in the late night hours!! Tish, THANK YOU for EVERYTHING! A special and heartfelt thank you also goes out to the almost 30 attendees from all over the Southeast (some of whom live right nearby and many of whom drove 8 to 12 hours to be with us!). You guys are an incredible bunch of people! So many new folks, so many regulars, some who aren’t even ON the boards… all coming together to share fun and laughter, food and stories, to learn and help one another, to vend their products and network with others, to share food and play games and win prizes, and (goodness knows) to fight tooth and nail for glider goodies!

Work is being done now to line up a veterinarian to give a talk and answer questions about general glider health.
There will be talks about diet, glider education, and the work being done to stop mill breeders in their tracks.
There will be games, fun, and commraderie...
you won't want to miss a minute of the next gathering!
